The "breakage fee" on your invoice is the same thing as a security or damage deposit.  It is US$200.00 on all our rentals except for the Nani Kai Hale (Beautiful Beach House) which is US$1,000.00.  The breakage fee is automatically debited from the credit card you use to secure your reservation seven (7) days prior to your arrival.  If there is no damage to the property it is automatically returned to the same credit card seven (7) days after your departure.

This is an automated process handled by our reservations system.  If you wish to use a different card you must access your guest area of our system and update your card details there BEFORE the due date of the breakage deposit.  Finally, although the deposit is refunded to the card by our system it may take several days to appear on your card as a credit.  This time lapse varies depending on the policies and procedures of your card-issuing bank.  Hale Koolau has no control over how quickly the refund will appear on your card.
